Elvis Presley was always at his best during gospel sessions (and when not on tour he could often be found at his residence playing his favorite hymns on the piano). This quintessential release features two of Elvis’ most celebrated spiritual LPs, which were originally released on the RCA label: Elvis’ Christmas Album (1957), and His Hand in Mine (1960). Combining the spiritual force and the physical release he’d experienced from the best rock & roll singing, Elvis revealed himself here as one of the alltime- great gospel singers. He had energy to spare (hardly a surprise) but also immense reserves of feeling, control and precision. These two outstanding albums have been packaged together in this very special collector’s edition, which also includes 4 bonus tracks.
