A talented performer of standards and show tunes, Monica Lewis had a superb, warm, and moving voice. Over the course of a decade (from 1947 to 1958), she recorded a series of albums that complemented her success in movies, live engagements and TV shows. Following that, she would take a hiatus from her music career, which she wouldn’t fully return to it until thirty years later.

On Fools Rush In, one of the most soughtafter vinyls by jazz record collectors, Lewis is backed by Jack Kelly's piano and ensemble. Most of the tunes are romantic ballads and Lewis sounds a lot like Dinah Shore here with a dash of Julie London, showcasing her clear contralto voice, as well as her perfect diction and masterful phrasing.
