This release presents two complete original albums by the unique Johnny Hodges, both appearing here on CD for the first time ever. The first, in quintet format, marks Hodge’s only recorded encounter ever with Argentinean pianist and composer Lalo Schifrin.
The latter LP showcases the saxophonist soloing on standard tunes with a big band conducted & arranged by Oliver Nelson.
