Etta James’ powerful, versatile and emotionally direct voice could enliven the raunchiest blues as well as the subtlest love songs. She was one of the most iconic soul singers, with a career that lasted decades.
This release includes two of Etta James’ finest albums from 1962: her self-titled third LP Etta James, and the follow-up record Sings for Lovers (which Etta herself stated was her favorite album). They were both originally released on the Argo label (a subsidiary of Chess Records).
