As lead vocalist with The Teenagers, the legendary Frankie Lymon became the first black teenage singing idol. The group’s sound influenced several rock & roll, R & B and doo wop artists from the ‘50s, and served as the prototype for both the girl groups and early Motown soul stars of the ‘60s, such as The Supremes and The Jackson 5.

This quintessential release includes Frankie Lymon's two finest LPs: the wonderful debut album The Teenagers Featuring Frankie Lymon (1956), and Rock’n’Roll (1958), which marked Lymon`s first effort as a solo artist, Both albums have bee remastered and packaged together in this very special collector’s edition, which also contains 6 bonus tracks from the same period. All of these fabulous songs form an essential part of Frankie Lymon’s musical legacy.
