Andrea Motis

Already in her mid-20s, ANDREA MOTIS is a jazz superstar in her home country with chart successes and the enthusiasm reaches far beyond Spain. As early as 2011, QUINCY JONES became aware of the young lady on trumpet and vocals, whose mentor was bassist, tenor saxophonist and celebrated pedagogue JOAN CHAMORRO, head of the Catalan jazz talent factory SANT ANDREU JAZZ BAND. In the spring of 2021, she joined forces with the WDR BIG BAND COLOGNE. Under the direction of the experienced leader MIKE MOSSMAN, who arranged all the songs, the recordings began to which ANDREA contributed most of the songs.

"Colors & Shadows" is a wonderfully atmospheric and Latin-oriented big band jazz album. Here ANDREA MOTIS shows on ten songs her great art as a singer - which has already brought her comparisons with the legendary ASTRUD GILBERTO - and on the trumpet.
