One of the most celebrated French singers and poetic songwriters that ever lived, the great Georges Brassens (1921-1981) was renowned for his subversive streak, satirizing social conformity and moral hypocrisy with a wicked glee. His songs, which he himself sang backed by his guitar and a minimal rhythm section, expressed his convictions in a wonderfully subtle way. Presented here are some of his greatest hits.
