Released by the Munich-based Rüdiger Schöttle gallery, 1978’s ‘Having Been Built On Sand’ was a collaboration between saxophonist Dickie Landry and visual artist Lawrence Weiner. Weiner, along with Tina Girouard and Britta Le Va, recite spoken-word and poetry over Landry’s yearning, free-form tenor sax on eight untitled compositions.
