THE COMPLETE LP + 1 BONUS TRACK

One of the most iconic albums by the superb 1956 Miles Davis Quintet, Workin' features the leader on trumpet, John Coltrane on tenor sax, Red Garland on piano, Paul Chambers on bass, and Philly Joe Jones on drums. This was the third in a series of four classic albums by the same formation (the others were Cookin', Relaxin', and Steamin'). Workin' is the product of two massive recording sessions from May and October of 1956. Contradicting the standard method of preparing fresh material for upcoming albums, Davis decided to produce brilliant studio versions of their club repertoire. The present LP includes the group's legendary versions of "Four" and "It Never Entered My Mind" and was given a 5-star rating in AllMusic by reviewer Lindsay Planer.
